The Katie Swaney Foundation partners with hospitals to provide essential support for children battling cancer and their families, ensuring they receive the care and resources they need during challenging times.
Katie Swaney was 3 years old when she was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). Katie and her family fought courageously and received terrific care from Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and Duke University Medical Center.
Katie did not live to see her fourth birthday.
In late 1999, the Katie Swaney Foundation was established to celebrate Katie's life.
The Katie Swaney Foundation (KSF) is dedicated to supporting children with cancer and their families. We bring joy and comfort by donating play equipment, gift cards, and hospital-requested items to brighten their days.
Through partnership with the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and Duke Medical Center Pediatric & Cellular Therapy Support Program, we address the physical and emotional needs of those children and their loved ones.
Additionally, we provide monetary grants to advance cancer research, striving for a brighter future for all affected by childhood cancer.
Annual Golf Outing: Early Fall Classic
Our signature fundraising event, the Early Fall Classic, is held every October at a Pittsburgh-area golf course. Over the past 26 years, this beloved tradition has raised over $350,000 to support our mission.

"We are so grateful for your continued support, generosity, and kindness. Your donations help us provide our oncology patients with items that have such a positive impact on their stay. We could not do this without your support."
"Thank you for your generosity in helping us to care for patients and families in loving honor of Katie. It is a joy to partner with you and honor Katie's legacy in this meaningful way."
